Taking Stock

I'm not sure where the weekend went to - boy did it fly past! These gorgeous Apricot Stocks were picked up bright and early at the local farmers markets on Saturday and each time I look at them they fill me with pure joy! They are up the top of the wedding flower list!

Old Joy

I'm off on a buying trip tomorrow; not quite Paris, though what I like to now call my 'local' Paris! I always get very excited before a buying trip; the wonder, the thrill, the joy of what I might find. Map is packed, 'old lady' shopper on wheels dusted off, baskets stacked and alarm set. Pure Joy!

Concrete Mayhem

Sometimes it even surprises me what I manage to get up to as a stylist; yesterday was no exception. Wait for it..... Concreting! Yes, Concreting..... You order how much you want and one of those huge trucks arrives (which is pretty exciting, I did squeal) and then the driver asks 'Where do you want it Love?' and voila, you have yourself some Instant Concrete Mayhem!

I could go on with the finer details on how to get the perfect slab, but lets just say that concreting is a very underrated job that requires physical fitness, a sense of urgency and precision, hence why I am very very sore and stiff today.

Love Art

© Cressida Campbell
The more I look into our new piece of work (here) it reminds me of one of my favourite Australian artist Cressida Campbell. I adore Cressida Campbell's woodblocks and paintings. She really celebrates the small wonders of life and through her work she says lot about the way we live and interiors we inhabit. Love her work!

The Gift of Art

Over the weekend Timothy O and I become the owners of this rather beautiful piece of art. The generous gift was from my parents to celebrate our engagement. I love giving and receiving artworks as gifts; I think it is one of the most personal objects you can give, one that offers nothing more than to give you daily joy and inspiration!

This piece is by Australian artist Leene Aavik.

The Bathroom Reveal

As promised, (albeit a little over due) here is our finished bathroom! Plus some images from the scary 'Before' folder too.

One of my favourite things in our bathroom is our salvaged old cast iron bath tub. Salvaged items for the home are the best form of recycling!

If you are lucky enough to have a bath of your very own, then why not use it more often! You know what they say - you should use your bath at least once a week; its a privilege you know ...... so is the water!

Love that old world charm!

Sticky Business

© Kara Rosenlund
You may of noticed the slight sprinkling of posts lately; I have been hard at work and very soon I will have some extremely exciting news to share with you! Empires weren't built in a day, so stay tuned! In the mean time here is a recent sticky food shoot. Gosh I love working with old kitchenwares; older pieces bring so much integrity to the plate!

Humble Toast

© Kara Rosenlund

I am loving this cold rainy snap here in Brisbane. Thought I would share my belated lunch with you - humble toast with raspberry jam! I have pinched Timothy O's scarf and am make believing I am back in London!

P.S Beautiful sourdough by Brewbakers as usual.
